Diminishment v0.302d, Chapter 2 Part 1 - Public Release

Hey!

After roughly a year working on it, it's finally done!

Mega folder (0302c Windows, Mac, Linux, Android 0302d)

If your browser is crashing with MEGA, try the Desktop app instead.

Linux only has a free release version. If you can only run the Linux version, there is no difference with the paywalled version.

Neither Mac or Linux are officially supported. Make sure to test the Free Mac version, before subscribing on either patreon or substar, as it's highly likely that it won't work! There is of course the re-cut video versions of the game events, but those are of course not the exact same experience as the full game.

Mac(and likely linux) users: Make sure to turn on "Use built in text" in the options menuThis means you can't use custom translations and what not though! Make sure to restart the game after enabling this option. Unless the text shows up normally for you with the option disabled of course, then it's better to leave it that way!

Installing APKs on android: https://www.lifewire.com/install-apk-on-android-4177185

NOTE: that each APK (Android) package only has the corresponding parts. If you try to load a part that's not included in the installation package, the game will get stuck in a loading screen. This does mean you need to start through a new game, when going to chapter 2

Hopefully it was worth the wait!

0302d (Android only update):

  • Added option to skip to the apartment scene in Chapter2 Part1
  • Skipping the intro parts might help users who experienced crashes after the school section of the event ends on the regular version

0302c:

  • Fixed various issues when loading from a save, mainly portraits & audio related
  • Accidentally divided the free android version into 3, similar to the payed version, so there's now separate install for prologue, chapter 1 and chapter 2. I'll keep it this way, since this is the way the paid version is divided as well.
    • This does mean that any previous chapter 1 saves you've made on the free version won't be visible, unless you copy the save file to the "com.DiminishmentCh1" folder. See the readme in MEGA if want to do this.
  • Added different icons for each installation on android, so it's easier to see what you're launching.

0302b:

  • Fixed save issues with android

0302a:

  • Fixed fade out in middle of sequence, when not helping Nina
  • Fixed some audio missing from Lucy
  • Fixed some audio loops not stopping when supposed to
  • Added opengl version for android, for those that have trouble with vulkan, try this, if your device is slow with the other one

Known issues:

  • There seems to be some issues with the save system on android currently
  • Loading from saves made within Chapter 2 Part 1 in version 0300e or older, causes all bad endings to freeze the game. Saving and reloading won't fix this issue. Sorry for the inconvenience!
    • NOTE: Since it only affects the bad endings, your saves made at the end of the various branching paths/main paths should work fine in the future, for continuing on to the next part.
  • There might be one or two ambient sounds missing at some points. If you think you've found one let me know. Examples of these would be stuff like missing stomach sounds during stomach scenes, no muffled moaning loops heard during internals, and so on.
  • If you press buttons while the game is loading it'll throw you a "not responding" dialogue, just ignore it, and it'll go away once the game has finished loading. This happens after player setup, and between parts. As well as between the school & apartment transition.
  • Old saves made during the apartment section are unlikely to work.

Changes v0302:

  • Added portraits for Chapter 2
  • Added dialogue grunts to intro/outro, and some key places in the CG events
  • Fixed some minor bugs
  • Some minor improvements to videos here and there
  • Leveled audio, so it doesn't break as much at certain points
  • Added a button to the menu, that unstucks a loop. Use this in case you have issues. These should not happen, and learning about where a freeze occurs is always useful for me. But with this, you don't need to reload at least. (can use F5 as well)
  • The latest scene is now in two parts, so there's some loading time between the school and apartment transition (so wait at least a minute, before assuming it crashed)
  • Other minor tweaks that I can't remember right now

Diminishment Compatiblity test (Windows)

Hey,

I figured I could post this here as well:

  • This only includes the Main Menu and Player setup, trying to go further will cause the game to hang in a loading screen, so that's normal.
  • This also has the full res and less compressed video, so you can see how well the "best" version of the game runs for you.
  • You should see a video playing in the background of the Main Menu, if nothing is playing, something is wrong! It can some times take a couple seconds for the video to appear, depending on your PC, though.

Updated compatibility test

Make sure to try the different run option found in the game's folder if the video is running slow or not showing up. Vulkan will run better on some PCs than others, while DX11 runs better on others, etc.

This is built with Unity 2020. Since some people had issues when I tried to update to 2019, you can check in advance to see if the next update works for you, and if not, possibly fix the issue. Please read the attached read me file first to see if any of those solutions work for you, before asking for help!

Let me know in the comments if you have any issues, especially if the previous version worked fine for you.

About release estimates & the upcoming game part

Hey,

As you have no doubt noticed, Chapter 2 Part 1 of Diminishment has been taking quite a bit longer than my initial estimates were predicting!

I've been expecting to get it done as early as at the end of May, I might have even thought I could get it done by April at some point, if I'm not remembering wrong. Those were all dates that I thought I could match, but that turned out to be a fools errand.

I realize that I've never promised anything, and I've tried my best to make it clear, that my estimates are always on the optimistic side, and usually the first possible date of release I believe possible. But I do still get the occasional complaint of being dishonest, although granted, not from the paying customers. I think I've seen only one complaint from a patron so far, and if anyone's asked, I've yet to refuse a refund. Although I'm not entirely sure if that is possible on subscribestar.

I'd hate for people to think I'm intentionally lying to get more people to subscribe, so from now on, I'll refrain from giving any kind of estimates on any final releases, until I believe I'm at most a week away from it, to avoid misunderstandings between a release estimate and a release date. The only release estimates I'll be giving, are to subscribers about WIP materials, which are more frequent and usually don't fluctuate more than a week.

Why has this part taken so much longer than the previous one?

First, it's longer and more complex, at least animation footage wise, compared to the previous chapters. I'm trying a lot of new things this time, like new render techniques, fluid simulations, and some cloth simulations. The new hair system that you've seen in the more recent videos also takes quite a bit more work with the looping nature of the game's video clips. It's much harder to guess the amount of work required, when you're doing something you really haven't done before.

Second, it's not taken that much longer than the previous part, considering nearly half of the time was spent on the 3 mini-animations that came out before I started working on this properly. I think Ch1Pt3 took roughly 6 months, while this one has now taken about 7 months. I only started properly animating this after Bootyful Incident was done, which came out early January.

What's left to do before release:
  • A couple workdays worth of render prep still left for the intro part
  • Writing dialogue
  • Constructing the actual Unity scene
  • Audio
  • Post-processing
  • Portraits
  • Possibly some background renders for the non event parts, if required, although I might use place holder stock photos
I am working as fast as I can, and I've basically taken no breaks since the start of June. I want this out as much as you do, so I can finally take some proper time off, ideally, while there's still some summer left to enjoy.

Any questions regarding any potential release dates will be ignored from now on. My guess is often as good as yours.

Thank you for reading, I hope you have a nice day!

Bootyful Incident - Released

Hey!

The December mini animation is now complete!

There are a few things I'd like to have added/fixed, now that I'm looking at it. But it already took longer to make than intended, so maybe it's best not to think about it further.

Sorry for the delay, and I hope you enjoy!

A Quick Snack - VR & POV, FF/m vore clip with Clara & Anya

Update: Added VR version. No separate monoscopic version this time, but you can view the 3D version in monoscopic with most popular VR video palyers.

The resolution differences for the VR version are 1440p(free) vs 2160p(patrons). Other than that, there are no differences.

Hey!

The new video can be found here:

Pornhub VR version (Nausea warning, contains forced movement)

This one's a bit simpler than the previous one. It was actually supposed to be a lot simpler than this as well, but I could help but add some stuff to it.

Which is why I'm scrapping the "Mini-loops" from now on. Mini-Animations will be released every 3 months, and the months in-between will have alt version releases, such as gender swap for the tiny, and VR versions. This is all in addition to the larger game releases of course.

This change is due to both this and the previous clip taking a lot more time to do than I initially planned for. These were supposed to be something I could do on the side while making the game in the first place.

Upcoming schedule for the next two months:

  • November will have a VR release of "a Quick Snack" (likely 180 degree, for a crispier image, but I'll have to do some experimenting, so we'll see).
  • The next Mini-Animation will come out late December, categories still unknown, patrons will vote some time during November.

I hope you enjoy!

Fun with teach - Lucy and her shrunken teacher (Mini-Animation)

Hey!

Here's the new monthly video. First of many, I hope. Granted not all of them will be as long. The current plan is to make one of these slightly longer "Mini-Animations" every 3 months, and the months in between will have a "Mini-loop" instead, as I still want to prioritize working on the game. Mini-loops will be anywhere between 4-10 seconds of animation material, looped in a longer video.

These videos aren't tied to the game story wise, and are more sort of "what if" scenarios. Not to say that something similar couldn't happen in the game!

I hope you enjoy.

Diminishment - Chapter 1 Part 3 (Concludes Chapter 1)

Known issues:
  • If you had trouble downloading from the MEGA links in the last couple days, it's likely due to my bandwidth limit exceeding the Pro I account limit, I've upgraded to Pro II now, so it should be enough, as it increases the bandwidth limit from 2 to 8 TB.
  • Saving when there's no dialogue on screen can cause the save not to work when loading from it.
  • When keeping the suit, if you do a perfect run (green flash, no QTE) on the first minigame, it will play the wrong dialogue.
  • if you skip part 2, it will send you to the main menu. For now, if you wish to skip part 2, use the scenario skip available when starting a new game (you will be able to answer questions regarding any choices that might have effects in the future)

It's done!

Windows only for now, other platforms and recordings/re-edit coming a bit later.

This version adds the final part of chapter 1. Well there might be optional additions later, but for the main events at least.

Additionally, it is now possible to translate the game by yourself, without the need to go through me. Check the tutorial in the games folder to see how. Personally I recommend using open office for translating.

Game Links (v0.232b):

Windows

(Neither Linux or Mac support translating at this time)

Mac (0.232a)

Linux (0.232a)

Android (0.232a)
(Requires at least android 6.0)

Video Links:

Re-cut video (No dialogue/Music etc.)

Phub Link (ad warning)

Recordings

v0.232b
  • Fixed some missing portraits during a certain portion with Nina!  Or at least a chance that they weren't showing up.

  • Fixed some typos in dialogue
  • Fixed glitchy portraits on the victory end
  • These fixes are only for PC, at least for now, since they're not very game breaking, so rebuilding it for all the other platforms would be a bit too much just for these. Even if that Nina portrait thing does add quite a lot more to that particular scene, in my opinion! (These will be on the recordings)

0.232a changes (PC version updated, others were built directly into this, so the changes should be there already):
  • Text transparency should now properly fade the hearts and the speaker name as well
  • If you had problems loading text on PC before, this should fix any such issues
  • Fixed one instance where Nina was saying Elena's line, and Elena was saying Nina's line
  • Fixed portrait hide button not working during the CGs of part 1 and part 3.
  • Added some gurgle sounds to one part during the teasing portions of the second day event

Sorry for the constant delays. I probably shouldn't give out release estimates, since I can never seem to get them right!

Hopefully it will have been worth the wait.

If the videos don't run for you in the game, let me know. I used a similar method as previously, when at least a couple people mentioned they couldn't run then. Although that might have been on android. It's all a bit fuzzy.

Note that if you want to put your custom translations into the Android version, you will need to modify the apk file. This can be a bit annoying to do, so it's best to do finished translations on the PC, and only then transfer it to the android version, assuming you know how to do it. "APK Easy tool" for windows is relatively painless from what I tested just now. Alternatively, you can also send the finished translation to me, and I'll get to it eventually.
